“You can't make an omelette without breaking eggs”… Under the pretext of the evolution of knowledge and acquisition of new technologies to improve the standard of living (health, food, ICT, etc.), this slogan was once used as argument for scientific research carried out in conditions contrary to human morality. In a constantly evolving world and at a time when Scientific Research has shown its potential for socio-economic development, it is appropriate for African researchers to pay particular attention to how they carry out their research work...
For its second edition, IFYAR will be held from the 1st to the 10th of December 2022 in the natural and enchanting setting of ECOPARK Cameroon located at Ahala barrière in Yaoundé.
Definitely focused on entrepreneurship, this second edition will be an opportunity for young researchers, inventors, students of form 5, lower sixth, upper sixth grades, and visitors, to integrate the dynamics by which the young researcher will through entrepreneurship, contribute to the new economy.
On the programme : conferences; training workshops; oral presentations; project competitions (doctoral and master’s theses); the IFYAR Innovation Challenge; Foire aux métiers; Universiades finals; Future City Challenge; junior researcher workshop; musical concert; exhibition tour; Miss IFYAR 2022 competition and much more.

Training workshops
The training workshops will allow participants to to acquire concrete skills on a specific specific topic. They will be organized mainly in 2 types.
On the one hand, the purely scientific trainings will allow the participants to acquire scientific scientific skills that will allow them to, for example to write projects, to look for funding, or to manage or in Artificial Intelligence management.
On the other hand, the more entrepreneurial trainings which will allow participants to reinforce their leadership skills, management, business communication and others.
Conferences
They will take place in several halls with an average capacity of 500 seats each. These conferences will focus on the 6 main areas of the fair and will be organised in plenary sessions lasting 1h30 each. They will give the opportunity to visitors and participants to gain from the experience of eminent actors of Scientific Research and entrepreneurship in Cameroon and Africa.
Oral presentations
Oral presentation sessions for abstracts that have been accepted for presentation by the scientific committee. About thirty abstracts will be selected and distributed according to the 6 axes of the Fair ;
Sessions with young entrepreneurs called «Talk to the start-ups» will be an opportunity for young researchers to see how research work leads to the creation of wealth.
Junior Researcher Workshop
This activity, intended for students in form 4, form 5, lower sixth and upper sixth classes, will comprise educational workshops aimed at making them interested in science through lively but no less useful and richly instructive exhibitions.
Visit of stands
The opportunity is given to all IFYAR partners to rent stands according to the available dimensions. This will give the opportunity to the partners to present their different products and services while providing a platform for the presentation and valorisation of their companies or institutions.
IFYAR innovation challenge
IIFYAR is an opportunity to attend or participate in the IFYAR Innovation and Invention Challenge which will be held during the 10 days of the fair. The competition will be open to any African willing to showcase their invention/innovation to the general public. Applications will be open from 15 February to 31 May 2022. The list of candidates selected to present their inventions/innovations will be published by 30 September 2022.
Round table discussion
As part of the achievement of the objectives of the International Fair for Young African Researchers (IFYAR) 2022 edition, the Local Organising Committee has planned to hold a round table on 01 day during the fair, bringing together the scientific community, the public and private sectors as well as the civil society. The theme of this round table will be «scientific research and entrepreneurship: Stakes and challenges for the emergence of Cameroon
and the African continent». Through the exchanges that will take place, the objective will be to make a state of the contribution of Scientific Research in the achievement of the Emergence of Cameroon and African countries, its constraints and opportunities that it offers.
The career fair
It will be an opportunity for pupils and students of form 4, 5, lower sixth and upper sixth to discover science-related jobs in connection with the 6 areas covered by IFYAR.
Competition for the best Master’s and Doctorate/PhD projects
Call for applications on 15 February 2022. Participants will have 4 months (from 15 February to 31 May 2022) to submit their applications and the Scientific Committee will have 3 months (from 1 June to 31 August 2022) to select the best applications. The Scientific Committee will then select 10 participants (5 master students and 5 thesis students) per field, i.e. 50 participants for the final competition which will be held throughout the 10 days of the fair.
